in Bergen would be beneficial to trade, as it would then be possible to announce in a safe, convenient and less costly manner what ought to be publicly known, such as what goods are for sale and whether any persons are interested in purchasing certain goods, or similar announcements. Public orders of authority, which have hitherto been announced by drum rolls and by posting them on the doors of churches or similar places, where they are promptly taken down, announcements of auctions, inventories of estates, and the like, could be made public with less trouble and expense in a Office of Advertisment. We wish, following the humble petition and request of the aforementioned Ole Brose, to graciously grant and allow, as we now do grant and allow, that he himself shall have the right to establish in Bergen and its diocese a office of advertisment in the same manner as that which exists in Copenhagen. He must, however, undertake to give information about what has been requested to be imported into his establishment, and any other information that may be requested about the office of advertisment,
