Order in council issued by the King himself on 28 November 1766:

            Frederick, King of Prussia.
      Following your report of 6 May concerning the
association set up by some local and foreign publishers
in order to prevent the reprinting of their titles,
We have arranged for this matter to be looked into closer, and since
after submission of the original terms of its Charter, We have seen
that the aims of this association are not unjust in any way, We have
forbidden, through the Privy Councillor of War Kircheisen,
all local publishers from carrying out any reprinting whatsoever of published books;
We therefore hereby announce this to you for your information and attention,
and so that you know that you can let the matter rest as such. Should
you wish to find out more about it, you can

ask the Privy Registry to let you see the records appertaining to this matter.
