Full title:
Copyright Formalities in Spain: Registration- Registry Books

Full title original language:
Libro-registro de las Obras recibidas en la Biblioteca de acuerdo a la Instrucción del Ministerio de Julio de 1847

Abstract:
One of the most distinctive aspects of the Literary Property Act (1847) was the obligation to deposit two works, one of which had to be given to the Spanish national library. Here we can see how specific practices of registration were developed. The left side of the registration page gave the receipt number, whereas the right side identified the features of the book (e.g., title, authorship, publisher and physical aspects).

Commentary: No commentaries for this record.
