Declaration.

The undersigned declares hereby on behalf of himself and his heirs, that, in accordance with an existing contract,
he has transferred and handed over all his compositions as an exclusive legitimate property to the art and music shop of
Herr Tobias Haslinger in Vienna, purveyor to the Imperial and Royal Court, and that therefore all other editions and
arrangements of the said compositions, regardless of where they may have already occurred or might occur in future, are
to be regarded solely as illegitimate, unauthorized and illegal reprints.

                                                                        Johann Strauss,
                                                                              Kapellmeister.
                  Vienna, 15 January 1835.
                                                                        Joseph Edelbauer, as witness.
                                                                        Johann Träg, as witness.

It is herewith certified by the town council of the Imperial and Royal capital Vienna, that Johann Strauss has
signed this declaration by his own hand, and that the witnesses, by their participation, confirmed the identity of his
person. In proof of which there follow our own signatures by hand, and sealed with the intermediate privy seal. Thus done

at Vienna, on 15 January 1835.                                    (seal)      Joh. Bapt. Ripelli, Vice-mayor.
                                                                                                      Jos. Pfusterschmidt, town councillor.
Pohorschelek, secretary to the town council.

The above signatures of the Vice-mayor of the Imperial and Royal capital Vienna, Johann Bapt. Ripelli, the town
councillor Pfusterschmidt and the secretary to the town council, Pohorschelek, as well as the attached official seal are
certified as authentic by the Imperial and Royal office of the provincial government of Lower Austria.
                  Vienna, 17 January 1835.                                          (seal)Baron von Talatzko.

The authenticity of the above certificate from the Imperial and Royal office of the provincial government of Lower
Austria is herewith confirmed on the part of the Imperial and Royal Privy Chancery of State and the Court.
                  Vienna, 19 January 1835.                                          (seal)Franz Joseph, Baron von Bretfeld-Chlumezansky.

Inspected for verification of the above confirmation by the Imperial and Royal Privy Chancery of State and the Court.
                  Vienna, 10 February 1835.                                          (seal)Royal Prussian Legation
                                                                                                      Weymann, Royal Privy Councillor.

The above legally certified declaration proves that I am in the legitimate exclusive possession of all compositions by
the kapellmeister Herr Johann Strauss. In order to prevent all illegal, unauthorized reprints, I have
transferred to Herr T. Trautwein in Berlin the right of co-possession of the same for all the Royal Prussian lands. Against
all instances of illegal reprinting and sale of these, I will call on the laws which are in place everywhere for the
protection of ownership.

Vienna, 10 February 1835.                                          Tobias Haslinger,
Art and music dealer, purveyor to the Imperial and Royal Court.
