Content: 1) Announcement, concerning the accession of the Grand Duchy of Hessen to the treaties
                        concluded between Prussian and Great Britain for the mutual protection of author's rights
                        against reprinting and unauthorised reproduction; - 2) Announcement, concerning the
                        implementation of Article 3 of the treaty for the continuation of the Customs and
                        Commercial Union of 8 May 1841, with regard to the collection and controlling of
                        the domestic taxes on wine, fruit wine, spirits, beer and tobacco; - 3) Announcement,
                        concerning the professional examination for barber-surgeons; - 4) Authorisation for
                        the acceptance of foreign decorations; - 5) Official notices; - 6) Allocation of posts
                        according to character; - 7) Retirement; - 8) Invitation of tenders; - 9) Deceases.

ANNOUNCEMENT

concerning the accession of the Grand Duchy of Hessen to the treaties concluded between
Prussia and Great Britain for the mutual protection of author's rights against reprinting and
unauthorised reproduction.

      Whereas the Grand Duchy of Hessen, on the 19th of the previous month, has acceded to the conventions
concluded between the Kingdom of Prussia and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland on 13 May
1846 and 14 June 1855, which are reproduced below, so this is herewith officially made known to the public
for its information and observance, with the condition that the provisions of the said treaties are to come into
force on 1 April 1862.
