---------------------------------------------------- The Manager http://localhost/cambridge/tools/manager/manager.php There are 3 sections: - Record - Commentary - Representation The record dataset is the general (bibliographic) description of the source. The representation dataset is about the graphic files and, if existing, the translation and transcription files. The commentary is seperated from the source since it can be linked to various sources. The naming convention: First letter of the country and year, seperated with a _ Example: d_1479 If there are several sources from that year, add a letter. Example: d_1479 d_1479a d_1479b or d_1479a d_1479b The naming of a record and it's associate representation must be the same. The naming of a commentary should be the same as the source it's describing (for convenience reasons). You can choose a dataset (from the the sections) from the dropdown list for editing or create a new one. --------------------------------------------------- The Editor The editor shows the information stored in the database recordset. The fields _id, _revision and identifier can't be edited. You can add fields by clicking the [+] button. Fields can be deleted by clicking the [-] button. Changes are saved when clicking the Submit button. For technical reasons at least on field (of every datasetentry) must remain, even if it doesn't hold any information. If you have nothing to enter just leave it blank. (If only one field of an entry is existing, the [-] button disappears.) Persons are listed by their names. Further information can be entered by clicking the toggle button, opening another dialog. If you are editing a commentary you can create a 'real' commentary file by clicking [create commentary]. You can edit the commentary html file by clicking [edit commentary]. If you are editing a representation dataset you can toggle lists of uploaded files. These lists can't be edited. You can upload and delete files with the file manager by clicking [file manager] at the top of the page. If you want to delete any dataset, click [delete document]. You will be asked if you really want to delete this document. Be aware that all associated files will be deleted, too. (Such as graphics of a representation dataset or the commentary html file of a commentary dataset.) ----------------------------------------------------- The Filemanager for representation files If you want to upload or delete files associated to a representation dataset, click [Manage representation files] at the top of the editor. When uploading graphics, these should be the original, best quality files. (These are stored in a directory archive.) After any changes to the filesystem, click [update database]. This may take a while when recalculation the graphics to jpg fileformat, depending on the amount and/or the size. Just take a look at the load graphic of your browser.
